Vinyl selectors Mati Baz and George Aresti dig deep into funk, soul and rare groove, bringing the warmth and character of well-loved records to Ruby Zoe Hotel. Expect deep cuts, surprise gems and timeless tracks that hit differently on vinyl.

Mati has been part of London’s funk dance community since the early 2000s, playing grassroots parties and celebrated events including The Four Corners, Roast, The Rock Box Reunions and Let’s Jam. Now, alongside fellow West London crate digger George Aresti, he’s helping revive the legendary Deep Funk nights that inspired generations of dancers and record collectors.

George’s DJ roots go back to the mid-90s. His long-running funk and rare groove nights—from The Rocket in Acton to Mishmash in Chiswick and Fever at High Road House—have made him a familiar name on London’s funk scene. Together, Mati and George bring a shared love of rare, underplayed records and dance-floor-ready grooves.

The evening is relaxed and social: a chance to dance, kick back, meet fellow music lovers and talk records. Ruby Zoe Hotel sets the scene with its trumpet chandelier, quirky speaker-head nook and good drinks.
