See Windsor Great Park in Winter – a magical festive hike
As winter settles over the Royal Park, the trees stand bare, the flowers sleep, and a quiet stillness fills the landscape. Aside from the graceful ducks and swans gliding across the lakes, the park appears to slumber – but within this peaceful pause before spring, there’s a stark beauty to be found in every corner.
This is a special Christmas edition of our popular Windsor hike – a one-off festive version that only runs in the week before Christmas each year.
Please note: the route is similar to our Autumn Colours Windsor hike.
Along the way, we’ll stop at the Savill Garden Royal Gift Shop, a perfect place to find unique and elegant presents – including exclusive items from the King’s estates.

We visit the ruins of an ancient temple from the Carthaginian and Roman city of Leptis Magna. This enchanting temple was brought over to the UK in the 1800s!
At the end of the walk, we’ll arrive in Windsor, where you'll have time to enjoy a well-earned pub drink or browse for any last-minute Christmas gifts.
This walk is perfect for anyone looking to combine a wintery escape into nature with a bit of festive shopping.
