Jeanette says of her drawing: Liverpool Street Station is a place I have returned to repeatedly over many years. I am continually drawn to its vast iron pillars and sweeping spans, but also to the way the architecture is animated by the movement of people passing through it. This remarkable structure, combining Victorian engineering with contemporary urban life, becomes a setting where countless different lives briefly intersect, sharing the same space before dispersing again. With plans for major redevelopment that could fundamentally alter its character, I felt compelled to draw the station once more. The drawing was developed through a process of continual revision: erasing areas, reworking previous marks and rebuilding connections between the architecture and the people within it.
