Open call: Participative Art Project
Open Call - Participatory Art Project - Public Mural
We are looking for two artists to collaborate with the inhabitants of a Council Estate based in Battersea.
The mural is composed of different elements such as glass, bricks, lamps and window and door frames.
The project is composed of two main steps:
1) A communication strategy:
The inhabitants will take part of the design of the work. A series of events and social media campaigns will be hosted to reach a wider audience.
The residents will paint / assemble the first stage of the creation under the supervision of the artists. The artists will finish it.
The windows will be covered with a plastic film.
Please note that the artists are only expected to facilitate the workshops. The organisation, communication strategy and so on will be undertaken by AAC team.
The project will take place in March - April - May. We expect the artists to work around 90 hours at £10 an hour.
We were given a short timeline, this is why we are unfortunately unable to give this open call more time.
The artists must:
- Have experience working with participants. The audience of this project may be difficult to reach.
(If you're looking for to gain further experience, contact us - we may offer an internship & we will have other similar projects in the coming months)
- At least one of the artists need to be able to work on photoshop.
- You may apply as a duo or alone
- The choice will be made by the community.
