They are the architecture of popular music and they still work in a room.Presented by Major Tones Music and Entertainment, Motown Memoirs fields a six-piece live band with three vocalists across two 45-minute sets. The repertoire covers the full width of the label: Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, the Supremes, Smokey Robinson, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, the Temptations and Mary Wells. That is not a greatest hits selection, that is the whole story of what Motown actually was.The arrangements stay close to the originals, which is the right decision.
