- **Event Description**: Introducing Maudsley Talks: a lecture series designed to showcase world leading mental health insight, innovation, and practice.About this EventJoin the first ever Maudsley Talks on Wednesday 25 February: 'Mental Health across generations: helping mothers, saving children.'Professor Pariante will present his research in perinatal psychiatry, the mental health of women during pregnancy and the first year after childbirth.It will look at the profound effects of this period on mind and body of both mothers and their children and the impact it can have into adulthood.Drawing on more than two decades of clinical work and research at the Maudsley Hospital and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London, he will show how stress and depression during the perinatal period have profound effects in the biology and psychology of both the mothers and the children, potentially reaching the next generation in its adulthood.He will also present his most recent work on psychosocial and creative interventions to improve mothers’ well-being and potentially the mental health of future generations.Attend this event in person at the Wolfson Lecture Theatre, IoPPN.
