The programme brings together films from the London Community Video Archive (LCVA) with contemporary works by Rhea Storr that invite reflection on what we mean by community centre. These films bring to light the often overlooked histories of community organizing; they demonstrate the potential of film to amplify voices and influence societal change. In Storr’s own words, film can be “a surface, a space, a gathering.”The programme for the evening will be as follows, curated by Phoebe Beckett Chingono (London Community Video Archive; June Givanni PanAfrican Cinema Archive):Okay Keskidee, Let Me See Inside! (2025)(Excerpt from) Subjects of State, Labours of Love (2025)and a selection from the London Community Video Archive (1970s–1980s)Doors will open at 6:30PM, following the afternoon family screening of Polar Express.Popcorn will be provided for free!This event is organized by Enfield Council's Places & Journeys Team and DK-CM as part of the Shaping Edmonton initiative.
