Blow the Christmas cobwebs away with a little saunter down the Thames. In association with Hackney GT and Hub Vélo, we're going to be going down the Thames and back, crossing on two ferries!
Route will be provided, and is around 100km round trip - suitable for any bike with wider tyres, we would not recommend a standard road bike, though it is likely to be passable on 28mm tyres and have done it on 23mm in the summer!
The route will follow the Greenway down to the Woolwich Ferry (free!) and then meander along the beautiful bleak Thames on well made gravel paths all the way to Gravesend where we jump on another ferry and make our way back via Rainham Marshes.
For those wanting to cut the ride a little shorter, you can get the train back from Gravesend to Stratford making a ride of around 60km, the full route will be about 100km and we'll have a few beers and food at the end.

It is non-supported ride, meaning you should bring puncture repair kit, spare tubes, map/phone, spare clothes and enough money to buy food, drink and to get transport home if you need it. It's always a good idea to bring plenty of food and drink with you, though there should be cafes open at Gravesend and Tilbury. If you've got any questions, post them below!
