Acoustic night at Grow!

Grow is a a space to experiment.... A place to come down without pressure to enjoy a range of musicians from across London who span genres. Local musician Joel Smith will take care of you on the night, whether you're playing, singing or just sitting back to relax!

Come in from the chill and hear some soul-baring music, insightful lyrics, epic stories, great banter and the warm Grow vibes we've all come to know.



Calling Blue Jay is the musical project of London-based singer-songwriter Marieke De Keukelaere (MarieQ), originally from Belgium. The music can be described as raw indie folk with a hypnotic flavour, a sound that is simultaneously delicate and powerful. Lyrics are a key ingredient and taste bittersweet, trying to explore complexities through self-reflection and visualisations. Combining a fingerpicking guitar style with haunting vocal harmonies, performances are known to be intimate and captivating."

She will also be releasing a new song (& title track) of her upcoming album called 'Indigo Dreams' on the 23rd of Feb, so stay tuned and contact her for more information.


Fintan James is a singer songwriter from Ireland, influenced by neo-soul, jazz and classic singer songwriters; with a laid back acoustic style. 'I recently released my first single on all-streaming platforms entitled 'Don't Let Me Down Tonight', and my first EP will be released later in the year.'... Words from the man himself.


Longy & the Gospel Trash (In this case, just Longy,), is a talented singer-songwriter from Essex. He is 396 gigs into attempting 500 in one year (!!!). He started the challenge on April 29th 2017 and has since played open mics, private parties, paid gigs and charity events. The challenge has seen him play all over the UK and South Africa. Come down and support this marathon man, and see his talented work on display at in our special environment.


Squeezed in the DJ booth, to fill your ears between the talent onstage, we have diverse, worldwide acoustic, folk, traditional, blues, roots and regional music from Australia to Africa, to Latin America, from your host: Joel Smith

We are an independently run space and an experiment in ethical business, which includes working with local artists, musicians on collaborative projects to host free events where everyone is welcome. We pay London Living Wage and partner with community projects to share and nurture local talent. Grow has no investment and is built by local Hackney Wickers and relies on the sharing economy of the area. Profits go back into the community.
