London has one of the most exciting and diverse cinema scenes in the world, and we welcome the writers, critics, curators and cultural commentators of the capital to NW10.  Everyone welcome!

Senegalese write-director Ousmane Sembene is often called the father of African film, and his feature debut Black Girl (La Noire de...) is one of his most highly regarded works. Through the use of striking flashbacks, Sembene tells the story of a Senegalese domestic servant who journeys to France along with her white employers. A stark condemnation of colonialism, the film gained international attention when it won the Jean Vigo award at Cannes in 1966. 
 
The film will be presented by Manish Agarwal of the BFI London Film Festival and the Overnight Film Festival.
