Led by musical director Lance Anderson, the band consists of veteran guitar player Terry Blersh, (Bobby Dupont Band), Wayne Deadder bass (Brooks and Bowskill), Rob Gusevs, organ (Blood, Sweat and Tears) and a four piece horn section of Toronto’s finest players.Special guests like Chuck Jackson (Downchild Blues Band), Johnny Max, Soul sensation Quisha Wint and more will join in the celebration.The performance will recreate the atmosphere of The Band’s final concert, which was captured in Martin Scorcese’s award-winning concert film, The Last Waltz. On the American Thanksgiving of 1976 at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom, The BAND invited many of their friends to join in their farewell concert celebration. These friends included Bob Dylan, Ronnie Hawkins, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Dr John and Canadians Neil Young and Joni Mitchell and others who performed with The Band on this special night.In this homage to The Last Waltz, special guests will perform the songs played and sung by these guest artists at the memorable 1976 concert.“What makes this performance special is the connection these musicians have to the music,” says Anderson. “They love the music and perform these tunes from the heart.”The Band is a Canadian national treasure, with four members of the legendary roots music group originally from southern Ontario, and Garth Hudson their mercurial genius organist from London ON.
