Where are we going :

SEVERNDROOG CASTLE & TEAROOM

Where will we start from:

The route starts at Lewisham Clock Tower at 8.30am. We will cycle to Blackheath via Lewisham Hill

The Route:

This is a shorter 10 mile loop. Wear your colours and bring your vibes, as we Ride like Royalty, at a leisurely pace to Blackheath via Lewisham Hill. We will continue to cycle through Eltham Common, via Broadwalk, before arriving at this 18th century, Castle which has an observation deck. Great for Forest and City views. There is a cost to enter the Castle £5.00 and £4.00 concessions. And family/group discounts, please bear this in mind. After breaking for a refreshments and admiring the views, we will move on to pass through Sutcliffe Park, before heading back through Mountsfield Park and ending the ride in Catford.

Who are we:

We ride as a group of people, mainly from an African and African Caribbean background and as cyclists we ride together regularly, often with a structured schedule and we have varying levels of abilities.

We usually aim to start when the weather is improving March/April, (we have however started as early as January, it depends on the weather), with easier local rides to start the year off, and we increase the distance and go further afield, until November or December (if we are really lucky), and we have been riding together since November 2020.

Who is this ride for:

The ride is for adults only and we have a mixed ability within the group. We welcome new riders. On some of our rides, there is likely to be at least one hill, but we try to avoid them where possible. We will wait, if you can't make it all the way to the top without stopping and we are a supportive group.

NB: If you find that you are unable to attend after you have booked, please cancel your ticket at least 24 hours before the event, so that it can be offered to someone else.

If you would like to join the whatsapp group, please ask me on one of the rides, and be prepared to committ to at least 6 rides annually, to remain in the group.

What you should bring:

Your bike and helmet, appropriate attire for riding and weather conditions, your colours and vibes also a smile.

We ride as a group, but please cycle carefully, and abide by the rules of the road. Your safety will be at your own discretion.

Please come prepared with inflatable tyre and/or pump.

Light fruits/snacks and water according to your preference. A travel card/cash.
