Featuring over a hundred essays from experts across various disciplines and countries, the volumes provide an up-to-date analysis of current issues and major themes in urban studies, and shed new light on regions that are often ignored or receive marginal treatment. Authoritative and contemporary, the collection is a state-of-the-art survey of the history of urban Europe.The Cambridge Urban History of Europe was published by Cambridge University Press in January 2026: The Cambridge Urban History of Europe.ABOUT THE EVENTThe evening will begin with a presentation of the volumes, followed by a conversation of the editors with Rosemary Sweet, Professor of Urban History, University of Leicester and the editor of the journal Urban History.We are very pleased that we will be joined by many of the people who were involved in the project:• Maarten Prak (Utrecht University): General Editor• the editors of Volume 1 (Ancient Europe): Penelope J. Davies (University of Texas, Austin) and Christina G.
