# Event Details - **Event Name**: Holiday workshops: Electronic and electrical control (Year 7 - 9) - **Event Start and End Date**: Mon, 26 Oct, 2026 at 02:15 pm – Mon, 26 Oct, 2026 at 04:30 pm (+00:00) - **Event Description**: Step into the shoes of real engineers and take on the challenge of designing a mini airport transport systemAbout this EventStep into the shoes of real engineers and take on the challenge of designing a mini airport transport systemIn this hands-on activity, participants will become budding Electronic and Electrical Engineers, designing and building a series of increasingly complex control systems. Working in pairs, they’ll create a pressure switch and use a slide switch to guide an electric buggy through a series of clever tasks – from basic movements to fully automated return journeys between fixed points. Then, they will programme an onboard computer to navigate the buggy across multiple ‘stations’, simulating real-world scenarios like those found in London’s DLR or Heathrow airport systems.A thrilling introduction to problem-solving and coding through real-life engineering challenges! For children who are in Years 7, 8 and 9 this term. This typically corresponds to children aged around 11–14 years old. We reserve the right to refund or deny entry to those who are not in the correct year group.Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.Image credit: Tim Mitchell - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/london/holiday-workshops-electronic-and-electrical-control-year-7-9/100002000375904178 - **Event Categories**: fitness, Contests, Workshops - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 - **Event Highlights**: - Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes - Location: The Royal Institution of Great Britain - Languages: English ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 33.94, max: 42.28, currency: GBP ## Event venue details - **city**: London - **state**: EN - **country**: United Kingdom - **location**: The Royal Institution of Great Britain - **lat**: 51.5097196 - **long**: -0.14252569999996467 - **full address**: The Royal Institution of Great Britain, 21 Albemarle Street, London, United Kingdom ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: Holiday workshops: Electronic and electrical control (Year 7 - 9) - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events6/banners/5845a9bf7df60a2480c7079b76dfc938383950d0e410067e32aa1be8549a2d9c-rimg-w1200-h800-dcf8f8f8-gmir.jpg?v=1791351117 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is Holiday workshops: Electronic and electrical control (Year 7 - 9) being held? - **A:** Holiday workshops: Electronic and electrical control (Year 7 - 9) takes place on Mon, 26 Oct, 2026 at 02:15 pm to Mon, 26 Oct, 2026 at 04:30 pm at The Royal Institution of Great Britain, 21 Albemarle Street, London, United Kingdom. - **Q**: Who is organizing Holiday workshops: Electronic and electrical control (Year 7 - 9)? - **A:** Holiday workshops: Electronic and electrical control (Year 7 - 9) is organized by The Royal Institution. ## Structured Data (JSON-LD) ```json [ { "@context": "https://schema.org", "@type": "Event", "name": "Holiday workshops: Electronic and electrical control (Year 7 - 9)", "image": "https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events6/banners/5845a9bf7df60a2480c7079b76dfc938383950d0e410067e32aa1be8549a2d9c-rimg-w1200-h800-dcf8f8f8-gmir.jpg?v=1791351117", "startDate": "2026-10-26T14:15:00+00:00", "endDate": "2026-10-26T16:30:00+00:00", "url": "https://allevents.in/london/holiday-workshops-electronic-and-electrical-control-year-7-9/100002000375904178", "eventStatus": "https://schema.org/EventScheduled", "location": { "@type": "Place", "name": "The Royal Institution of Great Britain", "address": { "@type": "PostalAddress", "streetAddress": "21 Albemarle Street", "postalCode": "W1S 4BS", "addressLocality": "London", "addressRegion": "EN", "addressCountry": "GB" }, "geo": { "@type": "GeoCoordinates", "latitude": "51.5097196", "longitude": "-0.14252569999996467" } }, "eventAttendanceMode": "https://schema.org/OfflineEventAttendanceMode", "description": "Step into the shoes of real engineers and take on the challenge of designing a mini airport transport system", "offers": [ { "@type": "AggregateOffer", "availability": "https://schema.org/InStock", "priceCurrency": "GBP", "availabilityStarts": "2026-10-07", "availabilityEnds": "2026-10-26T16:30:00+00:00", "validFrom": "2026-10-07", "lowPrice": "33.94", "highPrice": "42.28", "price": "33.94", "url": "https://allevents.in/london/holiday-workshops-electronic-and-electrical-control-year-7-9/100002000375904178" }, { "@type": "Offer", "availability": "https://schema.org/InStock", "priceCurrency": "GBP", "availabilityStarts": "2026-10-07", "availabilityEnds": "", "validFrom": "2026-10-07", "url": "https://allevents.in/london/holiday-workshops-electronic-and-electrical-control-year-7-9/100002000375904178", "price": "42.28", "name": "Standard (strictly Year 7 - 9)" }, { "@type": "Offer", "availability": "https://schema.org/InStock", "priceCurrency": "GBP", "availabilityStarts": "2026-10-07", "availabilityEnds": "", "validFrom": "2026-10-07", "url": "https://allevents.in/london/holiday-workshops-electronic-and-electrical-control-year-7-9/100002000375904178", "price": "33.94", "name": "Ri Young Member (strictly Year 7 - 9)" } ], "organizer": [ { "@type": "Organization", "name": "The Royal Institution", "url": "https://allevents.in/org/the-royal-institution/22530720", "description": "The Royal Institution (Ri) is an independent charity dedicated to creating opportunities for the public and scientists to explore science together.
