His Gaze Owns Her - In Conversation
An intimate and engaging evening for a small group of girls who seek to open up the conversation about the effects of the male gaze in a safe environment, followed by an empowering self-defence class.
As an experienced speaker who has hosted a number of creative events for the likes of the Institute of Creative Arts, Nike Women, Marieyat and The Laundry Arts, Shanice Bryce will be leading the discussion. Using a carefully curated space, Shanice will explore how we feel as women in the 21st century.
The charity Action Breaks Silence will be coming in to run the self-defence class. Founder of the charity, Debi Stevens, will be joining Shanice to share her 25 years of experience. In 2016, Debi was the recipient of an ‘International Women of Change’ award and was awarded the “Point of Light” by David Cameron in recognition of her work in the UK, India and South Africa. Action Breaks Silence has taught over 50,000 beneficiaries since 2013, working to establish a world where women and girls are free from gender-based violence.
