HealthChat with Sec of State for Health, Matt Hancock MP
Matt Hancock MP became SoS for Health in July 2018 following another government reorganisation caused by Brexit divisions. Since then, we have had numerous sound bites, promotion of digital health, claims of more money for the NHS, issues with fax machines and, well, you be the judge.
Is Secretary of State for Health even a job whilst the country is gripped by Brexit concerns? if it is then how does he balance the short term expediencies of Brexit planning with the long term imperatives for health policy? Is the forthcoming 10 year plan anything to do with him? Why are we still inspecting hospitals in such an old fashioned and destabilising manner? Who is the real Matt Hancock and can he be trusted with this most precious of state jewels?
Roy Lilley will be asking the questions and you know that this is the block buster start to the 2019 HealthChat series.
The event starts at 8 for 8.30am at the Royal Society of Medicine. Please book immediately to secure your seat as this will be sold out in a heart beat.
