Limited early-bird food tastingAbout this EventFibroids represent ‘a reproductive health emergency that disproportionately affects Black women’ because there is very little research available [Guardian Newspaper October 2025]There are also very few opportunities for Black women to meet and share experiences around the impact of fibroids on the quality of their daily lives and discuss what works to manage the pain, exhaustion and heavy bleeding caused by having fibroids.We are organising this in person forum as a place to share and receive support. We also we want your ideas to improve the care available from the NHS so that we can work together to influence change. We want to hear positive experiences and suggestions for improvements, we want to hear about your journey so far.Fibroids are growths located in and around the womb. They are non-cancerous and vary in size from pin-head to large melon and are a leading cause of reproductive complications, surgery and pregnancy loss.At our event on 16-6-26, we will both share experiences, record our stories and identify other discussion areas for future forums which will take place on the third Tuesday of the monthRegistration is £5 on EventbriteThere will be a free modest fibroid-friendly taster for the first 10 women arriving before 6.45pmEvent location is in Central Catford, SE6 and registration on Eventbrite will provide the address for the ForumWe wish you well and look forward to our discussions on Tuesday 16th June 2026
