For it's third event, SoGal London is pleased to welcome three distinguished speakers to discuss the global mindset and lessons learnt in creating and scaling a global startup. The panel discussion will be followed by networking drinks.
Tessa Clark, Co-founder & CEO, Olio
Tessa is Co-Founder and CEO of OLIO, the world's only neighbour-to-neighbour food sharing app, which exists to tackle the problem of food waste in the home & local community. Since launching in the UK in January 2016, OLIO has gained over 820,000 users who have together shared well over a million portions of food. Thanks for 27,000 Ambassadors spreading the word, OLIO has now seen food successfully shared in 46 countries. OLIO closed a $6m Series A in summer 2018.
Nicholas Stocks, Partner, White Star Capital
Nick is a Partner at White Star Capital, based in their London office, identifying opportunities and supporting their portfolio companies across Europe. In his previous role as Principal at Global Founders Capital, a $850m stage-agnostic global fund, Nick led and participated in over 30 transactions across four continents. Prior to this, he was an early member of the Skyscape team (now known as UKCloud), during which time the company raised over £20m. He began his career in the Investment Banking Division at UBS, where he advised telecom clients across corporate finance and M&A. Nick graduated from the University of Warwick and holds an MBA from London Business School. Raised in Portugal, he speaks both English and Portuguese fluently!
Katharina Neureiter, Impact Executive, CDC Group
Katharina joined CDC in July 2017 to help define, measure and maximise the impact of investments within the Consumer Businesses investment team. Her primary focus is to understand and drive development impact across their health, education, telecoms, media, tech and retail portfolio. Katharina has a special interest in education, tech and venture capital investments, and has led CDC's work introducing their healthcare framework to health providers. She has done this through an impact assessment of India’s largest maternity hospital, impact workshops, case studies and the development of a global ‘Investors in Health’ community. She also supports MedAccess, CDC’s access to medicine facility.
