The Lexington Singers currently includes five choirs with over 300 voices total, including four children’s choirs, and an advanced handbell ensemble.Dr. Jefferson Johnson is Director of Choral Activities at the University of Kentucky, where he conducts the University Chorale and Men’s Chorus and directs the graduate choral program. He holds degrees from the University of Georgia, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Colorado, and is a former member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus under Robert Shaw.Dr. Johnson is also Artistic Director and Conductor of the Lexington Singers, a 180‑voice community chorus that performs major works annually with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra.
