Two brilliant days of film, fun and workshops for the whole family.
A special weekend for budding film-lovers, enjoy exciting previews of new films, classic films, children’s cinema from across the world, as well as live events and workshops and activities inspired by the films in the programme.
Tickets are just £3 for under 18s and £5 for over 18s.

Framed Shorts: Animal Antics (U*)

We open the festival with a specially curated programme of short films, handpicked from all over the world by our curator Susie Evans.
My Giraffe (U*)

Princes and Princesses (PG*)

Puffin Rock (U*) with Lily Bernard

Lily Bernard, the co-creator and art director of Cartoon Saloon, joins us for an interactive event, showing episodes of Puffin Rock and revealing how she dreamt up Oona, Baba and the rest.
Moomins and the Winter Wonderland (U*)

Join us for a special screening of the Moomins' latest adventure and hear from So Mayer about how Tove Jansson's own life in Finland's winter wonderland crops up in her fantastic stories.

All workshops are free and run 10am – 4pm.
The Character Corner
Make your own character from the films in the festival from Moomins to puffins, owls and giraffes with animators and artists Shelly Wain and Wendy Scott.
Sound Effects Workshop
Discover how sound effects are created for film with the School of Noise. Have a go at making your own unique sound track to some classic clips and watch it played back in our mini cinema with foley artists and musicians from School of Noise.
Chill out in our book area, relax and read all about film.
Animate your own characters using stop-frame animation. Take inspiration from the world around you and the films you see at the festival with animation specialists.
Also look out for art activities around the foyer for you to add your creations to, pick up and do or take home.
