Exploring Stress Management & Self-Kindness: A Powerful 6-Week Course

When we’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed, we require the most self-kindness. However, it’s often the hardest thing to do! Often our inner critic tends to have a party telling us “you’re not good enough” Sound familiar? And we often say things to ourselves that we wouldn’t dream of saying to others! As if life isn’t stressful enough, we attack ourselves! Ahhhh, the irony! :-)
Imagine if in times of stress and struggling to cope, we were able to give ourselves the same awesome advice  we’d give a good friend. Imagine if we could truly be there for ourselves, have our own back and use science-based tools and techniques to aid our body and mind back to a place of calm and happiness.
Good news - you can!!!
What does the course cover?
Did you know there is lots of science-backed ways to teach us how to manage stress? And how you are feeling in your body and in your mind is absolutely normal and designed as a survival mechanism to protect you? We get into the nitty-gritty of what’s actually happening in our body and  mind when we’re feeling under pressure. Learn how to make friends with your mind, channel your inner coach and no longer be a victim to stress!
Next, we look at attitudes towards stress. What do we mean by this word 'resilience'? What happens if we approach stress differently? Learn how to see challenges in life as teachers, take the learnings and move on...whilst being extra kind to yourself through it all. We delve inside ourselves and explore our own personal relationship with stress and experiment, adopting different lenses. Could a shift in mindset transform our biggest challenge into our greatest lesson?
We also take a detailed look at a whole host of stress management and self-compassion techniques academically researched by leading experts in the field of mindfulness and positive psychology. We discuss and experience them as a group and support you in creating your very own personalized stress management and self-care plan.

About the Course Leaders
Vicky Johnson is a Co-Founder of the Museum of Happiness and has a proven track record of equipping people with vital life skills, so they no longer have to be a victim of stress. Vicky has trained surgeons, A&E staff, corporates, teachers, young people, the homeless and the general public. She is a qualified mindfulness and meditation teacher who has dedicated her life to sharing the science of happiness and helping people live happier, kinder more fulfilling lives.
Sarit Gafan is Community Coordinator at the Museum of Happiness and spent her 20s and 30s unlearning some ‘interesting’ strategies and learning some shiny new ones that have brought much more happiness and kindness into her life. She worked in schools for 10 years, but took a leap of faith into the unknown and some time off (gasp!) to nurture herself and see just exactly what it was she wanted to do with her life. For the past 9 years, she ran a charity project called Club Gratitude, where volunteers would make Packages of Hope for the homeless, to pay forward their Gratitude for their daily needs being met.
Explore how to achieve wellbeing in a fun and pressure-free way together with Sarit and Vicky! :-)
