This edition features:

Intimate Gamelan

Intimate Gamelan is a musical ensemble that was recently founded by Aris Daryono together with a number of his fellow musicians. In its early stages, the group devoted its attention to performing acoustic compositions that brought together the distinctive sounds of traditional gamelan instruments with several Western classical instruments such as the cello, violin, and flute.

Building on that foundation, Intimate Gamelan is now broadening its artistic scope and venturing into new sonic territory. In this latest phase of its creative journey, the ensemble explores an innovative fusion of gamelan, saxophone, and electronic music—an encounter between tradition and modernity that highlights both the timeless resonance of Indonesian musical heritage and the expressive possibilities of contemporary sound.

Through this exploration, Intimate Gamelan continues to redefine the boundaries of cross-cultural collaboration, offering audiences a deeply textured and intimate listening experience that bridges diverse musical worlds.

Gustavo Obligado

Gustavo Obligado is an Argentinian musician and composer based in Berlin. His solo performances blend saxophone, real-time sampling, and electronics to create immersive soundscapes that explore the boundaries between acoustic and synthetic sound. Drawing from experimental, noise, and improvisational traditions, his work captures the raw and ephemeral nature of the wind.

"In my solo set, I use saxophone along with real-time sampling and electronic processing. The compositions, called phenomenas, explore immersive and atmospheric soundscapes".
