Her work explores time, space, and memory through music, everyday sounds, and noises. She delves deeply into how we experience sound, particularly in various geopolitical contexts. Abas uses her instrument beyond traditional norms—improvising, composing, creating videos and sound installations, crafting cellos from diverse materials, and incorporating her body into performances. Through this approach, her work merges politics with personal expression, challenging conventional values and control. @khabatabasMaeve Moayedi is an experimental artist inspired by the undulations, fluidity and movement of water. Seeking to deconstruct and draw bridges between genres, social dualisms or any form of structure, she explores the connection of sounds through textures, merging my voice with natural field recordings, nu jazz, contemporary classical, and experimental electronic synthesis, finding my sound in between soundscapes and traditional composition. Whether she’s wandering through extreme natural environments like glaciers, oceans and deserts or delving deep into the studio, her process involves translating these experiences through technology and experimental approaches. Her work explores the intersection of embodiment, discomfort, and vulnerability as ways to reconnect mind and body dualities. @maevemoayediDirar Kalash is a musician and sound artist whose work spans a wide range of musical and sonic practices within a variety of instrumental, compositional and improvisational contexts.
