Decolonising Geography: An Educator's workshop

Info: Please plan to arrive for a prompt 12:30pm start. There will be time to grab a hot drink, find a space and meet other people who are looking to decolonise their understanding and teaching of geography. Info: This will be a workshop/presentation with a short activity that is an exploration of the maps that are used in Primary and Secondary schools a little closer.

Info: There will be a panel of 4 experts in their field, with teachers working in the field as well as someone who designs games and resources that use maps to celebrate and amplify Black History.

Info: This is a workshop with a presentation and an activity where we consider how certain terms are used in developing geographical understanding and how to use these terms to deepen understanding about climate and environment justice in lessons.

Info: This workshop will include a presentation and activity about how places got their names. This will include some useful tips on how to present this to young people in every day discussions or lessons.

Info: Danielle will announce the winner of the book raffle and summarise the session with her closing remarks. There will also be time to share resources and do some co-planning for upcoming lessons.
