Cultural Sector Network National Conference 2019
The IoF Cultural Sector Network National Conference 2019 is a one-day conference for fundraisers within the cultural sector. Entering its fourth year, it has now established itself as the largest conference in Europe specifically aimed at arts and heritage fundraisers. Last year’s sold-out conference, which drew over 250 attendees, took place at the Barbican. We are delighted this year to be hosted at LAMDA’s new building; the jewel of their £28 million redevelopment.
The conference theme is 'Learning from other sectors'. Arts and heritage fundraising can, at times, feel siloed from wider fundraising for the beyond profit sector, and yet there is so much learning that can be shared across.
What processes and approaches can we borrow from the 'blockbuster' fundraising campaigns led by higher education institutes?
What tips can we take from an international development charity’s viral social media fundraising and apply to our own digital fundraising?
To answers these questions and many more, for the 2019 Conference we have invited fundraisers from outside of arts and heritage to present alongside their cultural sector peers. From psychologists to top sales negotiators we are also programming cross-disciplinary speakers from beyond fundraising, to share their skills and knowledge.
Promoting inclusivity and diversity
This year’s programme has been developed collaboratively, with 80 cultural fundraisers contributing to an online survey – rating the topics they are most interested in and letting us know about brilliant speakers that represent the diversity of the UK.
Reflecting the ambitions of the IoF’s RAISE: Arts, Culture & Heritage programme (funded by Arts Council England) we will continue to ensure gender equality amongst our speakers – last year over 2/3rds were women – while striving for greater diversity and representation, inviting brilliant speakers from under-represented groups (including BAME, LGBT+, disabled) and from outside of London.
Alongside this we will provide bursaries (including travel costs) to early career fundraisers, those identifying as BAME, and fundraisers from small organisations to attend.
Members of the Institute of Fundraising and Young Arts Fundraisers receive a discount on their booking. Contact us to enquire about how to join.
Book by midday on Tuesday 5 March to guarantee any special dietary requests can be accommodated.
