Audience members are also invited — although never obliged — to submit their own anonymous confessions for Eleanor to read on stage.For this edition, Eleanor is joined by Ben Derbyshire, Chair of HTA Design LLP, a leading multidisciplinary design practice specialising in housing and placemaking.Ben has spent his career working through the realities of housing design: the ambitions, compromises, constraints and competing pressures that shape the places people call home. He is a former President of the Royal Institute of British Architects and has published widely on housing, including Home Truths, his book on the planning and design of sustainable places.Ben is also a Commissioner of Historic England, where he chairs the Historic Places Panel, President of the London Forum of Amenity and Civic Societies, a member of the NHBC Council and a trustee of SAVE Britain’s Heritage.Joining Eleanor, Ben will reflect on the realities of designing and delivering housing and sustainable places — from difficult decisions and lessons learned to the professional, political and practical challenges that rarely appear in the finished project narrative.It is part therapy, part storytelling and part industry reality check.Feeling brave?
