Business Support Projects Launch

Join Cllr Musthak Ahmed - Lead Member for Jobs, Skills and Growth and the Business Growth Team at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Town Hall where we will be showcasing our latest business support projects.

We are delighted to launch a £400k suite of business support projects funded through UKSPF. Through these projects, we will be supporting Tower Hamlets residents who want to start a business, provide support to early stage start ups and a specific package of support for female led/owned businesses.

Programme

10:30 - 11 : Registration

• Event registration with light refreshments

11 - 12 : Projects Launch

• Hear from the Council, previous project beneficiaries and project delivery partners. You will hear about the projects, their aims and how they can support you, who is eligible and most importantly how to apply.

12 - 1 : Lunch and networking

• Visit a mini market place of stands showcasing previous project beneficiaries and their businesses.
• Speak to the project delivery partners directly for more information on the projects and to apply.
• Network with like-minded individuals and enjoy a light lunch

1 - 2pm : Workshop - Preparing Your Start-Up for Investment

• Delivered by LLM Students from Queen Mary University London

2pm : Event close

The Projects:

Think Start Up2 - a fast-track programme to build a business the lean way. If you have a business idea but not sure where to start, join this programme to turn your idea into action.

You will receive practical hands-on advice, expert guidance to help test, validate and grow your idea. Perfect for side hustlers who are ready to take the next step.

Supported Access to Finance2 - supports aspiring entrepreneurs using more traditional methods that require financial backing. Through this project you will attend training, develop a business plan and register a new business on Companies House or register as self-employed.

Eligible participants will have an opportunity to apply for a £2500 grant to kickstart your business journey.

Women Mean Business 2 - will support the growth of existing female led businesses in Tower Hamlets. It will support businesses that are already established (minimum 18 months trading) and need support and guidance to grow their enterprise.

Support for Startups - will support the survival and growth of early-stage startup businesses through a programme of mentorship, technical assistance, workshops and networking opportunities to help founders build strong, scalable businesses.
