- **Event Description**: Yes siree, the Stomp is back for it’s fourth year runnin’ and back in it’s original home of The Birds Nest in Deptford. As always, it’s a killer line up featurin’ six of the best underground bands within the underground UK punk and rock ‘n’ roll scene. First band kicks off at 6pm sharp and final band finishes by 10.45pm. Then hang about, booze and babble to the background noise of wild rock ‘n’ roll,  punk , garage rock and power pop until 1am. 
Entry is free but we’d really APPRECIATE a donation of £5 ( or be super swell and chuck in a little more) each to pay for the bands ( when you arrive or buy your first round at the bar simply ask where you can donate to the bands).

QUICK ROMANCE!
Damaged Goods Records knows a thing or two about punk rock. If they see fit to release a record by a relatively new band then any smart cookie would wanna check out such a band. If you’re not already glued to the pulse of the rock and roll underground and haven’t yet heard or seen Quick Romance, then now is your chance. Every so often a young band come along and show the pretenders how it should be done. A band that plays with energy and charisma, urgency and fair and leaves their counterparts lookin’ like spare parts. Some of the band members went to college together and rumour has it ( actually I’m starting that rumour right now) that they bunked off classes to listen to X-Ray Spex and Fatal Microbes records and watched that video of Toni Basil doing ‘Hey Mickey’ on repeat. Quick Romance are teen punks in heat! Young, hungry brats from Bath on a mission to entertain! PUCKER UP!

THE REAL LOSERS!
Garage punk, lo-fi legends back from the dead?! In the early noughties The Real Losers howled, squawked and battered their way through all the basements and dives that served up garage punk. They released records, partied hard , probably forgot where they were and left their equipment behind. They were great and we loved them. Then all of a sudden, The Real Losers real losered no more. Like most great bands, they were short lived and only existed for just a few gloriously chaotic years. UNTIL NOW! The only difference is they’ve moved from Leeds to Bradford and they replaced their guitarist with some geordie nutter. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST REAL LOSERS GIG IN LONDON SINCE 2005!

CHINESE JUNK!
Chinese Junk play the Stomp every year. Is that favouritism or stupidity? You decide, but either way, they won’t care. All I know is Ben Nuthink is a very handsome man. He is capable of bending steel bars with his bare hands and was the only man ever to call Chuck Norris a pussy and live. I heard he once beat the shit out of a bear that invaded a family picnic but I’m not sure how true that story is. Anyway, he and his idiot friends play fast and catchy punk rock that sounds like listening to Ramones demos on a scratchy record with fluff on the needle. Chinese Junk are low budget, high action punk rock ‘n’ roll at it’s finest/worst. One after another of one and a half minute blasts of infectious audio audacity.  History has it that many years ago a teenage Ben Nuthink and Steve Legend once took a turn down a dark alley in Orpington and encountered a 127 year old fortune teller. The fortune teller told them “ Your pound shop rock army of fans awaits you. Throw enough shit and some will stick”. He then promptly dropped dead. Weird.

SHANK AND THE SHIVS!
Out of jail and ready to wail! Flyin’ Brian and his millionth band Shank and The Shivs, will be bringin’ a sack of tunes from Toon. Jailbird power pop rock ‘n’ roll with all the stomps, fist pumps and bomps you need to threaten the squares. Until now you might’ve only seen ‘em on Crimewatch but now you can see ‘em in person. Hold onto your valuables though, when they’re not riff robbin’ they’re purse snatchin’! True criminal element rock ‘n’ roll!

NUMBSKULL ACTION!
I’ll say it straight, Numbskull Action are my second favourite UK garage punk/budget rock band ever ( buy me a beer and I’ll tell you my favourite). I’ve been trying to put ‘em on for years but there’s always a band member that’s just quit or the drummer’s arm is hangin’ off or Kelly Action is washing his car or at a museum. But it’s not just Suburban Rot shows they don’t play, they hardly EVER play. They are the mystery men of Woking flop ‘n’ roll. Much preferring to play their racket in their practice room/living room/kitchen than actual gigging, seeing them at the Stomp will be a first not only for me, but most of you. Expect shambolic, blown out grotty budget rock! It’ll be like that overcrowded, dodgy firework party on the green on the council estate with stolen fireworks, lots of alcohol and no health and safety.

THE BOO TIKIS!
Our openers this year are Birmingham’s garage rock fuzz neanderthals, The Boo Tikis! Don’t be fooled by fine smellin’, immaculately dressed frontman David, he may look like a charmer but the guy’s a savage! Normally a two piece but sometimes a three piece, who knows what killer combo awaits us at the Stomp. It’s full on 80’s garage rock revival with this gang, think The Cynics, The Fuzztones and Chesterfield Kings meet psycho surf and a healthy dose of the Ramones. Square hatin’ outsider rock ‘n’ roll just the way you freaks and primitives like it!
