Board Women London Culture Skate 'The Art of Banksy’- Regent Street, 16 March | Event in London | About the event Board Women London Culture Skate 'The Art of Banksy’- Regent Street
Fancy a skateboarding day trip with a like minded crew? We’ve got you! Join us for a 2 hour skate session, lunch and museum exhibition.

About this Event

Shout out to all women aged 30 and above, as well as gender minority skaters, residing in London, Sussex, and the neighbouring regions! Join us for a day of skateboarding followed a visit to the controversial Banksy exhibition on Regent Street.

We’ll meet in the morning at Hop Kingdom for a 2 hour private session, with the brilliant Sarah from @yellowhatskateschool along to give everyone some tips.

From there we’ll refuel over lunch (food is not included, but we’ll have a private area booked for our crew).

In the afternoon we’ll head to Regent Street to check out 'The Art of Banksy- Cut and Run' Exhibition.

This event is suitable for all skill levels from beginners to advanced, although most of us are novices! We just ask that you bring your own kit and can confidently stand and push on a board.

Price includes private rental of Hop Kingdom (for no more than 15 of us) + skate instructor + museum entrance + a brilliant crew.

Meet near London Bridge Station for 9am. Quick 'Coffee and Crossant' stop at The Watch House then onto our first stop.

STOP 1: HOP KINGDOM- 10am-12pm

Hop Kingdom is an indoor skatepark in the heart of London, located under two railway arches on the Bermondsey Beer Mile. A five minute walk from London Bridge station. All ramps are moveable making it a flexible space for all skill levels.

Here we will be joined by skate instructor Sarah from @yellowhatskateschool. Sarah is a skater, surfer and snowboarder in her 30s, who has followed her passion for skating by starting up her own skate school in London. She hopes to be able to encourage and inspire other girls and women to take up skating, and to spread the joy of skating to as many people from different backgrounds as possible.

LUNCH STOP: Lunch is not included in the ticket price but we will book a space for us all somewhere near London Bridge to grab a bite and a drink before heading to our next stop.

STOP 2: THE MUSEUM- 84-86 Regent Street

After a fun filled morning skate session and a quick pit stop for lunch to refuel we then head over to Regent Street.

The Art of Banksy- Cut and Run - the major exhibition which has brought Banksy’s era defining works to over 1.5 million visitors in 15 cities across the globe - is now open in London’s iconic Regent Street. The exhibition boasts hand drawn sketches and “personal artworks which Banksy created for friends, colleagues and lovers” as well as prints of some of Banksy’s most famous pieces such as Girl With Balloon, Flower Thrower and Rude Copper.

From The Sunday Times- “While many, if not most, would regard him as a leading graffiti and street artist - CUT & RUN shows him as something wholly different. Powerful yet tender, this exhibition proves Banksy as an artist that has transcended his subculture, and reaffirms his place as the leading figure of the contemporary scene”.

Head home approximately 4.15pm, tired and happy.

About The Host: When was the last time you fell? We believe your 30’s and beyond are exactly the right time to embrace risk, and yet so many of us stop doing just that. We struggle to find time for ourselves beyond family and commitments, however when we do take risks, the mental, emotional and physical benefits trickle into every area of our life.Board sports are a solution for many of these issues, but they can feel intimidating to access. Whether it’s due to gender, age, or simply not having a friend to go with, Board Women brings together a community of women (and gender minorities) who need a helping hand to get started.
