Through collective image-making, discussion, collage, and reflection, we will explore how skin carries traces of memory, identity, vulnerability, and lived experience.Together, we will build a temporary archive of skin textures and marks — scars, freckles, pores, wrinkles, stretch marks, pigmentation, and other details that often go unnoticed. Removed from their original context, these images begin to resemble landscapes, geological formations, abstract compositions, or unfamiliar terrains, inviting us to reconsider how beauty, normality, and the body are culturally constructed.Participants will also work collaboratively to create temporary body collages using printed skin images, transforming personal traces into shared visual material. Through playful experimentation and collective making, the workshop opens space for conversations around self-image, intimacy, representation, and belonging. We warmly encourage participants to bring books, photobooks, zines, images, publications, or texts related to skin, the body, beauty, identity, or self-representation. If there is a page, image, or quote that resonates with you, we would love for you to share it with the group. No artistic experience is required. The workshop welcomes photographers, artists, students, researchers, publishers, and anyone curious about visual culture, body image, publishing, collaborative practice, and alternative ways of seeing ourselves and others. The session will include4 parts:Part 1 : Introduction & Skin Image CollectionThe workshop begins with a short introduction to the project and its themes. Participants are invited to photograph or scan areas of skin they consider distinctive, meaningful, or emotionally significant. These might include scars, stretch marks, pores, freckles, pigmentation, wrinkles, or other textures and traces.A portable scanner will also be available, allowing participants to capture skin textures directly as an alternative to photography.Participants are encouraged to bring books, photobooks, zines, publications, images, or texts related to skin, the body, beauty, identity, or self-representation. If there is a particular image, page, or quote that resonates with you, we warmly welcome you to share it with the group.Part 2 : Wall Archive & Collective ReflectionThe collected images will be printed and displayed together, creating a shared archive. Removed from their original context, they begin to resemble landscapes, abstract compositions, or natural surfaces rather than skin itself.Together, we will discuss how certain textures become accepted or rejected through cultural ideas of beauty and normality, and how our perception changes when skin is viewed as image, pattern, or landscape.Part 3 : Collaborative Body CollageParticipants work in pairs and use the printed skin images to create temporary body collages. Through layering, placement, and experimentation, personal marks become shared visual elements. The body becomes a canvas for exploring connection, texture, memory, transformation, and collective image-making.Part 4 : Open Sharing & DocumentationThe workshop concludes with a group reflection and documentation session. Participants are invited to share thoughts, experiences, and observations from the process while collectively discussing new ways of seeing skin, beauty, and identity.Light bites will be provided throughout the session, creating space for informal conversations and collective sharing. No artistic experience is required. The workshop welcomes anyone interested in photography, visual culture, publishing, body image, self-representation, and experimental creative practice.Hosted by @keykeyyanFood by @I.tifaniiang https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events10/banners/5e2ca010-6a8a-11f1-b387-ab66cbeeb1fa-rimg-w592-h740-dc816860-gmir.png https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events7/banners/5e6e6400-6a8a-11f1-b387-ab66cbeeb1fa-rimg-w592-h740-dc816860-gmir.jpg
