It is more freestyle, great for lacey designs, 3d shapes and can also be used to embellish and join your knitting.Our Beginners Crochet has been developed to meet the needs of those wishing to take the first steps into the world of crochet. These classes will not only introduce the participants to the fundamentals of crochet but also to practical advice on yarns, hooks and pattern reading.These classes are suitable for absolute beginners and includes your own starter kit with everything you need for the class.In the morning: Learn how to hold the hook and yarn, cast on, chain and double crochet, learn about the possibilities of crochet, choosing yarn and hooks.In the afternoon: Progress with the double stitch and learn the treble stitch. Learn how to change yarn/colour and to read/write a simple pattern. Create a "Granny Square".We also offer a " Next Steps" class, which covers 'Filet' work, creating 3D items, understanding charts and patterns. You will also create 2 small projects! We offer a discount when booking the two classes together! Next Date: Sunday 26th April, 11am - 5pm About the Tutor: The class is taught by Aikeda Watson who will guide you with practical help and tips, give observations and feedback with your learning. My decades of experience varies from making baby wear, fashion accessories to large bed throws. I have also taught these skills to many across different age ranges. I am delighted to continue passing on this joy to many more" AikedaClass Size: Max 8 studentsT ime: 11am - 5pm (Please arrive promptly)Where: The class will take place in Fabrications "Re Imaginerium" studio (we no longer have a shop cat as depicted in one of the photos!) which is downstairs from the shop via 12 steps. The studio is light and bright with a homely feel to help you feel relaxed and inspired whilst learning. You will have your own work area (with some shared facilities like ironing, cutting table) We purposefully keep class sizes small to ensure a quality experience and plenty of guidance time with the tutor.Class Includes: 4mm 'Knit Pro' crochet hook, 2 x DK 25g wool, "Crochet Unravelled" booklet (a clear & concise guide to learning crochet for right & left handed students)Please Note: There is no food or drink allowed in the studio, You are welcome to bring a sealed water bottle but please ensure all 'take outs' are consumed before arriving.
