Fred Olen Ray. Graduating to 16mm colour film after his earlier B&W effort, THE BRAIN LEECHES (1978), THE ALIEN DEAD follows a group of aquatic zombies and their victims.Featuring dreamlike imagery and charming DIY gore effects, THE ALIEN DEAD is a hypnotic blast of regional filmmaking that would feel right at home on a double-bill with Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE 3. It also features an elderly Larry ‘Buster’ Crabbe, the great cinema action hero of the 1930s and 1940s, and star of Season 9’s FLASH GORDON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE (1940).Polite notice: We are showing THE ALIEN DEAD without subtitles from the best available digital source./// BAR TRASH is a celebration of cult and curious cinema, hosted by queer film fanatic Token Homo and friends. Films are served with introductions, intermissions, prize giveaways, and subtitles / captions where possible. Tickets from £6 + fees. Adults 18+ only. Follow @tokenhomo on Instagram for updates.
