Shake off the January doldrums with this 2 hour mini urban retreat and leave feeling recharged, refocused and ready to take on 2018.
Enjoy all the trimmings of a nourishing yoga retreat in the beautiful surroundings of Lesnes Abbey lead by Katie Earwaker of Abbey Wood Yoga. The class will be in the newly built lodge at Lesnes Abbey.
The retreat will start with focusing and energizing pranayama (breath work) techniques followed by a fluid and dynamic vinyasa flow sequence focusing on alignment and breath designed to increase the flow of energy (prana) around the body. The sequence will also include plenty of standing and balancing postures designed to focus the mind. For the final part of the retreat, there will be a guided relaxation called yoga nidra. Yoga nidra is a deep relaxation technique which follows a systematic method of withdrawing the senses and then guiding the mind rather than the body through a series of instructions, all you need to do is listen to the instructions. During yoga nidra the brain is in a particularly receptive state, the perfect time to set fast your resolution (sankalpa) for 2018.
