We will be walking a 3.2 mile loop on the Red and Pink Loop Trail in the Savage River State Forest near Grantsville, MD.

We will be meeting at the Red to Pink Loop Trailhead for the Savage River State Forest on the AllTrails app.

*Note- Cell service is spotty in this area so please be punctual getting to the trailhead. Recent reviews of the hike on the trail app indicate it could be wet at parts from a beaver dam along the creek that follows the trail, but considering how dry it’s been, I anticipate we will be okay. Come prepared/ready to be flexible. BE SURE TO BRING WATER TO STAY HYDRATED. While it will be warm outside, there are lots of trees to keep cool in the shade. Remember- YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PREPAREDNESS AND SAFETY.

A First Aid Kit will be provided, and see further trail details and terrain graphs on the Alltrails webpage link listed above for more information.

Meetup time at the trail head is 10AM, LEAVING PROMPTLY AT 10:15AM.

Please LET US KNOW YOU WILL MAKE IT and ARRIVE ON TIME so you are not left behind.

Weather updates and hike cancellation will be announced Saturday (8/8) prior to the hike, should weather force us to cancel. There will be no rain date for the following Sunday.

Dogs are allowed in the park if leashed. If you wish to bring your pet along for the walk, MAKE SURE YOU BRING ENOUGH WATER FOR BOTH YOU AND YOUR PET. Please also let us know, so we can all be prepared and coordinate doggy meetups and greetings at the trail head.
