This month we are proud to present: SHANE ALEXANDER, TRACY NEWMAN, NICK JUSTICE JODI SIEGEL SHANE ALEXANDER Known for his intimate tenor, signature guitar style and moody melodies, Los Angeles-based solo artist Shane Alexander has shaped a distinctive career for himself with his California indie folk and soaring acoustic rock. Having extensively toured the US, Europe and Canada since 2005 (both as a headliner and supporting acts like Bon Iver, Lucinda Williams, Seal, Jewel, John Hiatt, Suzanne Vega, Styx and Yes), LA-based independent artist has developed a loyal international fanbase and performed on many fabled stages, including Red Rocks, The Ryman Auditorium and The Greek Theatre in LA. His music has appeared in dozens of television shows, commercials and films, earning over 30 millions streams. The song "Everything as One" from Alexander's 2019 album A Life Like Ours was recently featured in a national commercial for Chevrolet's 'Drive Safe' campaign. In addition to working on his own releases, Shane can usually be found co-writing songs (both remotely and in-person) and producing acts from both sides of the pond at Buddhaland, his recording studio in Westlake Village, CA. TRACY NEWMAN is an American television producer, writer, comedian and musician. Newman is a founding member of the improvisational theater troupe The Groundlings (as is her sister, Laraine Newman). She was co-creator and executive producer of the sitcom According to Jim (2001–2009). She is also a singer-songwriter, as well as an early member of The New Christy Minstrels and lead singer of Tracy Newman and The Reinforcements. A very prolific writer, Tracy appears frequently at legendary folk clubs like McCabes Boardwalk Music. She has released children’s music in addition to her adult music. She is the mother of artist/writer Charlotte Dean, with whom she co-directs the live comedy show Charlotte's Shorts NICK JUSTICE Singer songwriter Nick Justice follows the tradition of the traveling troubadour writing songs about lost souls, broken dreams and the search for redemption. Justice has five solo records to his credit with his last solo effort "Rope the Wind" reaching #1 on the Roots Music Report Top 50 Folk Rock Album Chart in April 2021. Justice released his sixth solo record "Stranger in My Town" July 28th produced by folk legend Joel Rafael. JODI SIEGEL Jodi Siegel, originally from Chicago, IL, is a singer, songwriter and guitarist. Over the years Jodi has opened for and or shared the stage with many respected musicians including: Albert King, Robben Ford, Robert Cray, J.D. Souther, David Lindley, Fred Tacket and Paul Barrere (Little Feat) and countless others. Her songs have been recorded by Maria Muldaur, Marcia Ball, Tommy Ridgley and Teresa James. She has recorded two CD'S; Stepping Stone and her latest CD, “Wild Hearts,” produced by Steve Postell (Immediate Family, David Crosby, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Iain Matthews), is filled with great songs, cool grooves, intimate, smart lyrics and some of the best of the best musicians in Los Angeles today including; Mike Finnigan (organ, piano), Hutch Hutchinson, Abe Laborial Sr., Alphonso Johnson (bass), Russ Kunkel, Michael Jerome Moore, John Ferraro, Arno Lucas (drums, percussion), Joe Sublett (Saxophone) and Maxayne Lewis and Clydene Jackson (background vocals). Each song has a soulful delivery with an undeniable down-home elegance. It has received great reviews by Patrick Simmons (Doobie Brothers), Maria Muldaur, Walter Trout, David Mansfield (T Bone Burnett), Leland Sklar, Mike Finnigan and Doug Macleod to name a few.
