Every January, Hocking Hills State Park hosts its beloved Winter Hike. This year, mark your calendars for Saturday, January 17, 2026. It’s a challenging yet rewarding 6-mile one-way trek from Old Man’s Cave to Ash Cave, with continuous starts between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
For average hikers, the trail typically takes about 2-3 hours to complete (depending on pace, stops, and conditions).

Please prepare for winter conditions:
	•	Wear layered clothing and sturdy, waterproof footwear.
	•	Bring water, electrolytes, snacks, and any personal essentials.
	•	Expect variable trail conditions, including hills, steps, rocks, and possibly ice.
Additional Event Highlights:
	•	At the midway point (Cedar Falls), enjoy complimentary bean soup and cornbread muffins courtesy of the Logan Kiwanis Club (donations appreciated).
	•	After finishing at Ash Cave, shuttle buses will transport hikers back to the starting area.

(Note: Parking is limited—consider carpooling. Overflow parking is available at Hocking Hills Elementary School, with return shuttles provided from Cedar Falls and Ash Cave.)

Important Disclaimer: This event is officially organized and hosted by Hocking Hills State Park (Ohio Department of Natural Resources). Members of the Bhutanese-American community are encouraged to participate together as Team ‘HIRA’ for camaraderie and support. However, participation is entirely voluntary and at your own risk. If you want to join HIRA’s team, you are more than welcome. We will share additional details about our group’s meeting place and time  at the park (in the morning before we start group Hiking) as soon as possible. HIRA is not organizing, sponsoring, or leading the event, and assumes no responsibility or liability for any accidents, injuries, losses, or other incidents that may occur.
