Beginning Ceramics Intended for Adults Age 55+

*Intended to serve adults age 55 and up

This ten-week class will primarily focus on hand building techniques, learning about proper assembly and attention to detail. Create functional and artistic pieces including pinch pots, slab work to make boxes, planters, geometric shapes, hardscapes, etc. Sgraffito will be taught and applied to geometry in sculpting with slabs. Students will use the slab roller, slip, extruder, texture tools, and maybe the pottery wheel if time allows. As you work through projects, students will share ideas and inspiration with each other.

This class is primarily funded by a Creative Aging Grant through the Utah Division of Arts & Museums. If the $50 tuition is a hardship, please apply for a CacheARTS scholarship a few weeks before class begins. Apply online at www.CacheARTS.org/classes
