What: Beginner Music Camp for students ages 5-10
When: June 28, 2025, from 9am to 3 pm
Where: Downtown Sound 12886 Grey St., Logan, Ohio, 43138
Cost: $20 per student OR $25 per household
 
The Beginner Music Camp will be a fun filled day of musical activities that will teach students the fundamentals of music making! There is no prior experience needed to participate, and students do not need to have any instruments!

The schedule will consist of 6 different classes which will be taught by music students from Ohio University! In the morning, students will learn the basics of rhythm, music notation, scales, beats, and dynamics. In the afternoon, students will apply these skills through bucket drumming, a scavenger hunt, and a string instrument petting zoo!

Students should arrive by 9 am, and they will need to be picked up by 3 pm. There will be a break for lunch around noon. We ask students to please pack their own lunches.

This event is made possible by Downtown Sound LLC and the Appalachian String Initiative. To make this event a success, we need at least 25 students to register!
