A big-hearted community film night celebrating the power of bikes, people, and positive change — right here in Llangollen.
Drosi Bikes is bringing Chasing The Sun to Llangollen Town Hall for one special evening — and we’re throwing the doors wide open to our local community, our North Wales neighbours, and friends over the border who fancy an inspiring night out with purpose. After a successful tour across England, this is the first screening of the highly rated film, in North Wales.
In 1973 a professor in a little known American university set out to discover the most energy efficient creature on earth: turns out, it’s a human being on a bicycle! The experiment has since entered into legend and is now more relevant than ever before.
This uplifting documentary from 2× BAFTA-winning director Michael B. Clifford dives straight into this simple, yet astonishing idea and follows ordinary cyclists taking on the legendary “Chase The Sun” challenge — a coast-to-coast, sunrise-to-sunset ride that proves just how life-changing a humble bicycle can be. It’s full of heart, hope, and stories that stick with you long after the credits roll. The film features contributions from broadcaster and ITV’s voice of the Tour de France Ned Boulting, author and blogger Jools Walker, Turner Prize-winning artist Sir Richard Long and 4x Mountain Bike World Champion Tracy Moseley. Chasing The Sun is supported by Trek and Bosch eBike Systems.
After the film, we’ll gather for a friendly, honest panel chat with riders, makers, adventurers, and the director himself — exploring how cycling can bring people together, spark small but mighty change, and help us all live a little lighter on the planet.
This isn’t just a film night.
It’s a chance for our community to connect, be inspired, meet brilliant local organisations, and imagine what’s possible — one pedal stroke at a time.
Whether you ride daily, dust your bike off once a decade, or just love a good story…
you’re welcome. Come be part of something special.
