Branch Line Gala

We are delighted to announce that we will be welcoming an historic visiting locomotive for our Steam Gala on 10th-12th April 2026.

1924-built Great Western Railway Small Prairie No 4555 will be joining us from our friends at the East Somerset and Dartmouth Steam Railways. We are very grateful for their support in loaning is us their loco. A reciprocal visit from 7754 will be taking place too.

This beautiful engine has an historic connection with our line. On 26th September 1964 it worked a Tallylyn Railway AGM special to Llangollen with 7827 “Lydham Manor”. Her sister loco No 5532 is also under restoration at Llangollen.

With 7754, 3802 and the final running days of visiting Class 14 D9525, this looks set to be a GWR-themed Gala to remember.
