Razstavo bosta odprla vodja STRABAG ART, g. Sebastian Haselsteiner, in direktor Y Galerije, g. Damjan Kosec.
Razstava 𝑁𝑒𝑘𝑗𝑒 𝑣𝑚𝑒𝑠 je rezultat sodelovanja med organizacijo STRABAG ART, Y Galerijo in umetnico Julijo Maurer. Ponuja pronicljiv pregled aktualne umetniške prakse in ustvarjalnega opusa Julie Maurer ter obenem zaznamuje njeno prvo samostojno razstavo v Sloveniji.
Julia Maurer se je leta 2008 prijavila na natečaj STRABAG ART Award in prejela priznanje, kar je pomenilo začetek povezave, ki odzvanja še danes. Ta kontinuiteta odraža osrednje poslanstvo STRABAG ART Collection – poglobljeno zbiranje, spremljanje umetniškega razvoja skozi čas in vztrajno podporo umetnicam in umetnikom.
Dela Julie Maurer se razpenjajo med dvema navidezno nasprotnima poloma, ki pa v njenem likovnem jeziku tvorita soodvisen sistem: med človeško figuro, ki zaseda osrednje mesto na platnu, in krajino, v kateri so samotne, skoraj izolirane figure umeščene globoko v prostor, če ne že skoraj izgubljene v njem. Krajina in figura pri tem nista nasprotni entiteti, temveč se medsebojno odsevata kot različna izraza iste notranje napetosti, razpoloženja in raziskovanja intimnega sveta posameznika. Maurer svoja dela asociira s finskim izrazom 𝑠𝑖𝑒𝑙𝑢𝑛𝑚𝑎𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑚𝑎, ki v dobesednem prevodu pomeni »krajina duše« oziroma »pejsaž duše« in povzema njeno osrednje zanimanje za vizualizacijo subjektivnosti.
Z razstavo 𝑁𝑒𝑘𝑗𝑒 𝑣𝑚𝑒𝑠 v Y Galeriji tako podajamo dvojno povabilo: slovenske umetnice in umetnike vabimo k prijavi na prihajajoč natečaj STRABAG ART Award 2026, vse obiskovalke in obiskovalce pa, da vstopijo v izjemen, z atmosfersko občutljivostjo prežet svet umetnosti Julie Maurer.

The exhibition 𝑆𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝐼𝑛 𝐵𝑒𝑡𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑛 is the result of a collaboration between the STRABAG ART, Y Gallery, and the artist Julia Maurer. It offers a compelling overview of Julia Maurer’s current artistic practice and body of work, while also marking her first solo presentation in Slovenia.
In 2008, Julia Maurer applied for the STRABAG ART Award and received a recognition prize, an early connection that continues to resonate today. This continuity reflects the STRABAG ART Collection’s core mission: to collect deeply, to follow artists’ development over time, and to provide sustained support.
The works of Julia Maurer unfold between two seemingly opposing poles that, within her visual language, form an interdependent system: between the human figure, which occupies the central place on the canvas, and the landscape, in which solitary, almost isolated figures are set deep into space—if not nearly dissolve within it. Landscape and figures are not antagonistic entities but rather mirror one another as distinct expressions of the same inner tension, mood, and exploration of the individual’s intimate world. Maurer associates her works with the Finnish term 𝑠𝑖𝑒𝑙𝑢𝑛𝑚𝑎𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑚𝑎, literally translated as “landscape of the soul” or “soulscape,” encapsulating her central concern with the visualization of subjectivity.
With the exhibition 𝑆𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝐼𝑛 𝐵𝑒𝑡𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑛 at Y Gallery, we therefore extend a dual invitation: to Slovenian artists, to apply for the upcoming STRABAG ART Award 2026; and to all visitors, to immerse themselves in the extraordinary, atmospheric world of Julia Maurer’s art.
