We invite you to Bachata Social Competition & CDC Bachata Competition as part of the Slovenien Bachata Festival!

-Dance technique:
Aesthetic and visual art movements - style, posture, frame, balance

-Musicality:
Musicality and rhythm, dancing out music (intro, main part, sensual, footwork, recognizing and applying exposition, changes)

-Connection:
Interaction with partner, energy transfer & response, attention to partner

-Leading/following technique:
Basic technique leading/following, sensual/dominican style leading/following, hand/body leading transfer/following

-Bachata Technique:
Leading: start 1 to the left
Following: start 1 to the right
Basic step/movement (pinch, upper body) accurate execution, accurate application of style elements (urban, sensual, Dominican)

-Creativity:
Use of creative moves, playful dancing out of music, playful harmonizing with partner

? CATEGORY CLASSIFICATION:
-Amateur Category
The dancer has participated in a maximum of 5 competitions previously, or is not an active competitor, or has not achieved any international results.
Disqualification applies to bachata teacher assistants and instructors.

-Pro Category
Dance teacher, dance instructor assistant, or active competitor with 2 or more years of bachata experience

? MUSIC:
-no pre-set music list
-Urban/Sensual/Dominican/Fusion music

? SUMMARY
Expectation
-Clean, neat appearance (dress, hair)
-If necessary, bring a change of clothes!

? NUMBER OF COMPETITORS
Maximum 20 couples per category (20 leaders / 20 followers).
In the quartern/semi final rounds the competitors dance with each other, the best 5 competitors dance with the jury members in the final
(The organizer reserves the right to merge categories if fewer than 20 participants register in any given category. In this case, the competition will be held in a single combined category.)

? SCORING
(The organizer reserves the right to modify the category structure if fewer than 20 couples register per category.)
In the semi-final, the jury may give the dancers a "pass" (0=NO, 1=YES)

-Semifinalists will be scored (based on 6 criteria: creativity, musicality, bachata technique, connection, leading/following technique, dance technique)

- In the Final the finalists got their final placement
Quarter final: maximum 20 leading & 20 following per category
Semi-final: 10 leading & 10 following per category
Final: 5 leading & 5 following per category

? Exclusion reasons may include
-no alcohol/drugs before and during the competition
-Competitors must pay special attention to each other's safety and body and must not endanger it
-Lifting/trick use during the competition is prohibited (both feet should not leave the floor at the same time for the same dancer)
-if the jury unanimously decides, the dancer may be reclassified to a higher position

A Full Pass or Party pass is mandatory to register for the competition.
