# Event Details - **Event Name**: Jan Krist and David Barrett at Trinity House - **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 18 Sep, 2026 at 07:30 pm – Fri, 18 Sep, 2026 at 09:45 pm - **Event Description**: Join us for a special evening as Jan and David celebrate a new Children’s Book, with illustrations provided by Jan. Jan Krist is a singer-songwriter with a rich catalog of recorded music, and a fine, resonant voice. Born in Detroit, Krist was raised on rock, and schooled in the folk and acoustic music of the ’60s and ’70s. Today, Krist’s work reflects the power and poetry of having matured as an artist in that place and time. Perhaps you’ve caught her live, heard her on the radio, or streamed one of her videos on YouTube. Jan Krist has performed all over the U.S., and has released 13 solo recordings to date. Critical response to her music has been strong and effusive, and her work has been praised in the pages of Entertainment Weekly Magazine, Dirty Linen, Image Journal, and Billboard Magazine, among other publications. “Jan Krist is a singer songwriter whose music has an uncanny way of cutting to the heart of a topic and providing the listener with food for thought,” writes Bob Darden in Billboard Magazine. “Her talent as a songwriter equals – if not surpasses – her vocal gifts.“ Darden describes Krist’s voice as being “…somewhere between Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush, but it’s all Jan Krist. Unreservedly recommended.” Jan has twice been a finalist in the New Folk Competition, held each year at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, Texas. She has also won four Detroit Metro Music Awards, having been nominated for that honor 13 times. Or perhaps you’ve heard Jan Krist perform with the Yellow Room Gang, a celebrated songwriting collective based in southeast Michigan, or with her new band, Diamonds in the Rust. David Barrett’s music has reached millions of people. Yet he’s always happy to share a simple evening of songs and stories in an intimate folk club. He writes songs about children. And criminals. He writes music about golf. And Norman Vincent Peale. He struggled for years, scrapping for gigs (and, in his words, “driving for checks”) only to become the proverbial “overnight sensation” in a field he’d never dreamed of storming. In the smiling face and renaissance talent of David Barrett, paradox has found a happy home. “It all starts with a guitar in my lap,” says the ever self-effacing Barrett whose solitary musical musings have brought him into the national spotlight. That guitar in that particular lap has yielded hundreds of songs—some of which have ended up in unlikely places. - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/livonia/jan-krist-and-david-barrett-at-trinity-house/200030709601522 - **Event Categories**: Music, Entertainment, Art, Sports, Festivals, literary-art, Contests - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 ## Ticket Details ## Event venue details - **city**: Livonia - **state**: MI - **country**: United States - **location**: 38840 6 Mile Rd, Livonia, MI, United States, Michigan 48152 - **lat**: 42.41097 - **long**: -83.42775 - **full address**: 38840 6 Mile Rd, Livonia, MI, United States, Michigan 48152 ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: Jan Krist and David Barrett at Trinity House - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events2/banners/a28439e813326d351fe08848dd0c0bf32c0be6d08463cc83414c580a0a40e405-rimg-w1063-h1392-dc280808-gmir?v=1789626740 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is Jan Krist and David Barrett at Trinity House being held? - **A:** Jan Krist and David Barrett at Trinity House takes place on Fri, 18 Sep, 2026 at 07:30 pm to Fri, 18 Sep, 2026 at 09:45 pm at 38840 6 Mile Rd, Livonia, MI, United States, Michigan 48152. - **Q**: Who is organizing Jan Krist and David Barrett at Trinity House? - **A:** Jan Krist and David Barrett at Trinity House is organized by Trinity House Theatre. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
