About the event

Finding Calm: Practical Tools for Managing Stress and Anxiety
Stress and anxiety are a part of modern life—but when left unchecked, they can take a real toll on both mental and physical health. Learning how to manage stress effectively can improve focus, resilience, sleep, and overall well-being.

This interactive workshop led by Diane Lang invites you to explore the root causes of stress and anxiety while building practical skills for a more balanced, fulfilling life. Through guided reflection and easy-to-use tools, you’ll gain insight into what truly supports your happiness—and what may be contributing to overwhelm.

In this session, you’ll learn how to:
Recognize early warning signs of burnout
Understand how stress and anxiety affect your body and mind
Simplify daily routines to reduce overwhelm
Practice realistic techniques to feel calmer, more centered, and optimistic
Whether you’re feeling stretched thin or simply seeking greater peace and clarity, this supportive workshop offers space to pause, reset, and recharge.

Diane Lang holds a master’s degree in counseling and has over 25 years of experience as a college-level educator. She is the author of four books, including Creating Balance & Finding Happiness, Baby Steps: The Path from Motherhood to Career, Mindfully Happy: Waking Up to Life, and her most recent work, Worthy, which explores the roots of unworthiness and its connection to perfectionism and control.

A positive psychology coach, educator, and speaker, Lang is dedicated to helping individuals cultivate resilience, balance, and a sustainable positive mindset. She speaks widely on topics such as happiness, stress management, resiliency, parenting, positive aging, anxiety, and depression, offering practical tools grounded in positive psychology.

Diane is also a sought-after media expert and has been featured in Family Circle, Working Mother, The Daily Record, and on outlets including CBS News, Fox & Friends, NJ12 TV, and Good Morning Detroit.

This program is made possible with the support of The Friends of the Livingston Public Library.
