Walk in Harmony - For guardians who want walks to feel easier, calmer, and more connected
Does walking your dog feel stressful rather than enjoyable?
Pulling, scanning, constant stopping, or difficulty focusing can turn something that should be simple into a daily source of tension.
This workshop is for guardians who want more than quick fixes.
Rather than focusing only on lead mechanics, Calm Walk Foundations looks at walking through a nervous-system-led, relationship-centred lens, supporting dogs to feel safer in their bodies and more able to cope with the outside world.
When dogs feel safer, skills come more easily.
In this workshop you will learn:
Practical, gentle lead handling and positioning
How to create calmer walk beginnings
How to recognise when your dog is becoming overwhelmed or unsettled
Ways to support regulation before and during walks
How to build connection and responsiveness without force or pressure
Format This is a 2.5 hour workshop, with a short break for lunch. (Please bring a packed lunch)
We begin indoors with calm foundations and discussion, then move to a nearby outdoor space for supported walking practice. (If weather conditions are poor, the workshop will remain mostly indoors, focusing on walk preparation, lead handling, regulation strategies, and indoor practical setups that translate directly to outdoor walks).
Suitability This workshop is suitable for dogs who pull, feel distracted, or find walks challenging, but who are able to work comfortably around other dogs and people.
Dogs with reactive or aggressive behaviours are best supported through 1:1 sessions. Please contact me if you are unsure which option is right for your dog.
