The Long Table is a dinner party structured by etiquette, not hierarchy, where conversation is the only course.We begin by creating decorated plates, bowls, and cups that express the values, stories, and gifts we bring to activism – a way to place something of ourselves on the table even if we don’t speak.Then comes the Long Table itself, hosted by researcher Emma Spruce. The table is open: participants can join at any time, take a seat, speak into the conversation, write on the tablecloth, or simply observe from the surrounding chairs. The conversation will meander, get messy, and find its own rhythm as we explore how Homotopia can support activists in a time when our rights – and those of communities we stand in solidarity with – are under threat, when protest feels risky, and when even small acts of resistance can change the world.We end with breakout talking circles led by lesbian Scouse activists from Clare Beloved’s 100 Queer Scouse Activists project, with scran, cake, and endless brews to fuel connection, reflection, and imagination.Pull up a chair.
