# Event Details - **Event Name**: Breaking The Silence: Truth and Lies in The War on Terror - **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 12 Nov, 2025 at 06:30 pm – Wed, 12 Nov, 2025 at 08:30 pm - **Event Description**: Join us for a film screening and discussion on John Pilger's special report from the frontlines of the so-called 'war on terror'About this EventJohn Pilger's 'War On Terror' is a profound documentary which lays the foundations for understanding the genocidal violence unleashed in Gaza and across West Asia in the name of Zionism and the "Greater Israel" project. The heroic Palestinian resistance represents the first line of defence in this war for the survival of humanity.Crucial to the strategy of the "War on Terror" was the need to portray Muslims and Arabs as the enemy and linked to terrorism. Islamophobia is a tool weaponised by the British state to justify military interventions in Muslim-majority countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq, which serve to strengthen Imperial control of the region in defence of the Zionist settler colony. The British state defends the interests of the Zionist entity and the Labour government is complicit in the genocide. Zionist support for the British far-right through money, media and propaganda infrastructure is essential to advancing the Zionist state’s strategic objectives in Britain. The Islamophobia exhibited by the likes of Farage and Yaxley Lennon did not emerge in a vacuum.Zionism is a maximalist, supremacist and eliminationist ideology which demands complete and total submission. All anti imperialists must demand the total decolonisation of Palestine from the river to the sea and the dismantling of the Zionist movement in Britain and worldwide. Anything less is complicity in empire.Join us for our last film screening for 2025!From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!Join us for an introduction, screening and optional discussion.
