Her story immediately struck something in me. I bought the book, devoured it, started following her journey — and eventually saw that she was planning to come to Colorado to attempt the Pikes Peak Ascent. At the time, I was helping friends jumpstart Renoja Wellness Colorado Springs, a wellness studio focused on recovery, optimization and longevity. When I learned Laura was planning to attempt the race, I reached out and offered her complimentary services to help her prepare and recover during race weekend. That one message ended up setting off a chain of events I never expected.Laura introduced me to Tom Everson and, through him, to the Pikes Peak Ascent — a race I had never even heard of. Although Laura wasn't able to make it to Colorado that year, I got Renoja involved with the race, met Tom, experienced the event firsthand and left knowing one thing: I wanted to do it someday. The following year, Laura returned to Colorado to attempt the Ascent herself, and we finally had the chance to meet in person. Now, almost three years after I sent that first message, everything has come full circle. Laura is returning to Colorado for this year's race and KEEP KIDS ALIVE DRIVE 25 — and I'm preparing for my first Pikes Peak Ascent, running in honor of Laura's father. That journey is a big part of why I wanted to bring Laura to Littleton. Her story embodies so much of what I believe about growth: do hard things. Do things that scare you, challenge you, transform you and elevate you — and the people around you. Think big. Do big. Go big. But most importantly, keep showing up.You never really know where one decision, one introduction or one brave yes might lead.— Julie RagusaAgenda🕑: 03:00 PM - 03:25 PMDoors Open & WelcomeInfo: Arrive, check in, grab a refreshment and get settled.🕑: 03:25 PM - 03:30 PMWelcome & IntroductionInfo: Julie Ragusa welcomes guests, shares a little about what brought this event together, and introduces Laura Carney.🕑: 03:30 PM - 05:30 PMBucket Listing for Beginners with Laura CarneyInfo: Laura leads her interactive Bucket Listing for Beginners challenge, with prompts, reflection and conversation designed to help you uncover what you truly want from your life.🕑: 05:30 PM - 06:00 PMBook Signing with Laura CarneyInfo: Meet Laura and have your included copy of My Father’s List personally signed.

"description": "Julie Ragusa’s life was never going to fit neatly into a box.Amultipotentialiteby nature, her life has moved through food, photography, film, entrepreneurship and real estate. She’s been a chef and photographer, produced films, owned a clothing store, created a vegan chocolate catering company while living in Europe, and founded Belgium’s first roller derby league. Today, she has built a successful career in real estate. And those are just the chapters that are easy to explain. Somewhere along the way, she also managed a bingo hall — because apparently there were still a few things she hadn't tried yet. What looks like an eclectic résumé is really just how Julie has always approached life: when something interests her, she wants to experience it. And when something matters to her, she puts her whole heart into it.Teaching and coaching have been woven through that life for years. She’s coached roller derby, taught culinary workshops and led real estate workshops. And throughout all of those very different chapters, she kept hearing the same thing from people around her:you inspire me.It took Julie a while to recognize that there might be something worth paying attention to in those words. Now, at 54, she’s training for her firstPikes Peak Ascent, continuing to build her real estate career and stepping more intentionally into coaching. There may not be a neat little box for a life like Julie’s. Good. She wouldn’t know what to do with one anyway."
