Dreams can be interpreted in a number of ways and in this workshop we will look at several ways of doing this, including Freudian and Jungian analysis. They had very different ways of understanding the hidden messages that can be found within them.Sometimes clients bring dreams with a wish to understand their meaning. This training will show you how you can work together with the client to discover their own personal interpretation as well as more traditional ideas based on general meanings of symbols.Before looking into the specific elements of the dream, we will learn to distinguish between dreams which might have little or no meaning to recurring dreams.Working with dreams can help clients work with more unconscious elements of their psyche, which might be hard to access in the usual talking through their conscious awareness. Counsellors often feel out of their depth when clients bring dreams into the room, and this workshop will equip them to work more effectively and confidently.Please bring a recent dream with you for interpretation!About Julie:Julie Slumbers has been a Clinical Supervisor at ACC for many years, as well as having supervisory roles in other agencies.She has been in private practice for 15 years specialising in different areas including BPD/EUPD, working with young people, addictions and neurodivergence.
