This sacred Sabbat marks the second harvest, celebrating abundance, balance, and the turning of the Wheel of the Year toward the darker months. The name Mabon is a modern invention, attributed to Wicca and comes from Welsh mythology.
The equinox is the time when day and night are of equal length, inviting us to reflect on the balance within our lives.
Key themes of the autumn equinox -
• Balance between light and dark
• Gratitude for what has been received
• Release of what no longer serves
• Preparation for the inward journey of winter
• Transformation and transition
We will sit and craft a beautiful wreath of autumn leaves, pinecones and other items you wish to bring. This can be hung on your front door or placed on your altar to honor the season and Sabbat.
(Materials provided but you are encouraged to bring your own in addition)
We will then reflect on our lives, bringing focus to the areas that require balance. Releasing the excess with a burning ritual and giving thought to areas that require more focus.
You are welcome to bring along your journal
